We ARE WEATHERED OAK
The name "Weathered Oak" holds a deep meaning for us and represents our journey. It’s a reflection of the challenges and experiences we’ve faced over the years, and how they’ve shaped us into who we are today. Like an Oak tree that weathers storms but stands tall and strong, we too have endured, grown, and remained steadfast. The name is a tribute to resilience, strength, and the beauty of persevering through life’s ups and downs.
We are also committed to giving back to the community and supporting causes that matter. Each year, we make donations to charities that we proudly stand behind.
Additionally, we recognize and deeply value the incredible dedication and sacrifices made by members of the Armed Forces and Frontline Emergency Services. As a small token of our gratitude, we offer a discount on our wedding packages to those who serve. It’s our way of saying thank you and supporting those who give so much to others. Just ask upon enquiring.

Owner / Videographer
I’m Dan, most of my friends tend to call me Bear.
I first picked up a camera when I was nine years old, I filmed home movies, family pets and play fighting action scenes with my elder brother. Since then I’ve been to film school, immersed myself in my craft, directed music videos, worked on movie sets, produced plays and orchestrated live television shows. l have even been nominated for a Royal Television Society Award for creativity.
As well as studying and adoring film I spent 16 years working within the emergency services for both Police and Ambulance. I have witnessed the best and worst of humanity.
Through my own experiences with mental health issues I’ve come to appreciate and love assisting people capture their special moments in life, or elevate their business through the medium of film. -
Admin. / Finance / Marketing
I’m Abi, you’ll find me behind the scenes doing all the administration, finance stuff and marketing for Weathered Oak.
You’ll hear from me when it comes to the above and you can ask me any questions you might have.
I come from a logistics background so I like to keep things running like a well-oiled machine. However being creative also, I have been known to advise clients on styling and design and you may sometimes find me assisting on shoots too. -
Photographer
Aye up, I’m Al. I come from a long line of artists, so my path to creativity was always going to be in front me. I see art everywhere and have an eye for details most people miss. I have been taking pictures for over 12 years and am at my happiest, behind the lens.
I am ex British Forces and an ex US Military Contractor. During my service I have witnessed the realities of conflict, these experiences have made me who I am today. Weathered Oak is about being strong and tall in the face of the storm, no matter what you have been through.
Whilst serving in Afghanistan, I found myself falling in love with landscapes and cultural photography. Upon my return to the civilian population, I started to see more of the world and the natural progression for any photographer is to work with people.
I have a generous and bubbly personality, which lends itself to making my subjects feel comfortable. I take an enormous amount of pleasure from producing pictures for people that capture a feeling of atmosphere and beauty. -
Photographer
I'm Zoe, a photographer with a passion for pushing the boundaries of visual storytelling. My journey into photography has been enriched by my background in graphic design and creative printing, giving me a unique perspective on the art form.
Drawing on my design expertise, I approach photography with a meticulous eye for composition and aesthetics. I seamlessly integrate design principles into my work, whether I'm capturing the grandeur of a landscape or orchestrating a conceptual photoshoot. This fusion of design and photography allows me to create visually striking compositions that resonate with viewers on a deep level.
In addition, I’m proficient in eating. Guinness world records have been in touch as they often question how someone so small can eat so much food! :) -
Videographer / Editor
My journey with a camera began as a teenager, shooting everything from local events to experimental short films with friends. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects—creating video content for universities, charities, corporate clients, and even indie films. I’ve collaborated with organisations like the BBC, NATO, and the Welsh Government.
One of the highlights of my career was being nominated for the Canon Short Film Award in the Scripted category in 2023.
My varied background has shaped how I approach each project, with a focus on community, creativity, and authenticity. Whether it's capturing personal milestones or helping businesses stand out through film.
Fun Fact! Joe once had an audition for a fashion company which involved dancing next to a suitcase for 10 hours straight!
